Beta Testing for Molly Jacques Workshop

Molly Jacques has been a huge inspiration to me ever since I first became really interested in calligraphy & hand-lettering a little over two years ago. I've always wanted to attend one of her in-person workshops (bucket list!). I enrolled in her Introduction to the Art of Modern Calligraphy class on Skillshare when it first opened a couple years ago and it was extremely helpful to me when I was just starting out on my calligraphy journey. Last month, Molly launched a subscription-based online calligraphy & lettering education site entitled Molly Jacques Workshop. I was one of 40 students chosen to participate in beta testing her new site. The beta testers had one week to explore her website, complete a class project & offer ways to improve the user experience.

I chose to create a project in Molly’s “Lettering 101: Design a Quote” class. Below are pictures of my process creating my hand-lettered quote.

What’s awesome about MJW is that it’s all online - so you can take classes at your own pace. You get access to video tutorials, templates, legal resources & one-on-one constructive, thoughtful feedback from Molly herself. This is an amazing opportunity for calligraphers & hand-letterers to take their skills to the next level, all while learning from one of the best in the industry! I can’t wait to take more classes from Molly and to continue growing as an artist & designer :)
